Lighting reference and paintover

Lighting paintover

I want natural light as if coming from a window on the left side.

Maybe even suggest blinds:

Racquet Ball lighting

Racquet ball lighting work in progress
I'm lighting by eye, but here's a photo for reference taken as close to my eye level as possible.

I haven't gone on to match color yet, but I'm pretty happy with the light placement. The three main sources of light are:
  • lamp - key
  • fan light - key
  • window - fill
I have to be kind of careful of the lighting conditions going on outside because it does affect how much light is coming from the window. The outdoor condition in which the above photo was taken is overcast around 4:30pm.

Fruit Composition

I can't decide which composition to go with. I'll most likely go with the bottom one because it'll show off the lighting better as a more holistic view.

Lighting Challenge

The scene I chose to light from Jeremy Birn's lighting challenges is the fruit scene.

I'll most likely move the fruit around to compose it better, but here are my possible camera angles for now.
